So how many of you have New Year’s Resolutions? I guess I do and I don’t. I always have a set of goals that I’m trying to achieve no matter the time of the year. I’m very much a goal-orientated person. I have to constantly be striving for something. And I’m not content just sitting and letting life pass me by. Don’t get me wrong… I do need time off once a while – usually to recharge before the next adventure!
One goal I set a while back but haven’t accomplished is taking more pictures for the fun of it. Since receiving my DSLR camera in 2007, I can’t count the number of times I have wanted to take a picture of something amazing and not had my camera with me. I find it strenuous trying to carry around a purse and my camera bag all the time. Besides, my camera bag is not very fashionable!
I have been drooling over the Epiphanie line of camera bags for quite some time now. They are super cute and function as a camera bag but totally does not look like a camera bag. I would love to own one but it’s not in the budget at the moment. I truly believe having a camera bag that I can carry with me always will help me accomplish my goal of taking more pictures for the fun of it.
I happened to be shopping with a friend last week trying to scoop up some after holiday sales and came across the perfect “Epiphanie fill-in.” When I opened this bag, it practically sang to me! I love how wide and deep it is. I can fit my camera equipment and my purse stuff in it – just what I was looking for! It reminds me of Mary Poppins bag because I feel I could pull just about anything out of it. Yes, it is huge and probably a little excessive but now the next time you see me, you know why I’m walking around with a gigantic bag.
Hopefully because of this bag I will be taking more pics for the sheer joy of it. I know it’s going to take some time to realize that I now have my camera with me. Just two nights ago I was in my car and the sunset was gorgeous. I thought to myself, “I would love to take a picture of that.” I forgot I had my camera in the next seat (duh!). Just like any new change, it takes some time to make it a habit.
